Monday:
School starts! Besides from the fact that ill miss my long sleeping hours, i cant wait for school to start. Its been so boring. If theres no outing, im pretty much on the comp sufing youtube.com, (by the way deb, your laughter in that video WAS scary).
Anyway, to boost up my motivation to study, i bought this book called "The diary of Ma Yan". Its about a chinese girl who wants to study. Okay, to make it more appealing, heres the sypnosis:
"No more money for school this year. I till the land in order to pay for my brothers schooling. when i think of the happy times at school, i can almost imagine myself there. How i want to study!" Ma Yan, aged 13.
I dont know if i should call her a sad person or not. But yes, im super motivated to make my JC1 life the best i can. Not to be over-idealistic but i must make sure my grades are better than average. Far from average hopefully/maybe/definetly. Its going to be a lot of work but ill just grin and bear it. History is almost becoming a passion for me. Im starting to really love the subject but the amount of research is putting me off. I have to work on that. Chinese is okay, despite my anti-chinese language sentiments, i have to make sure that i pass (just a pass, on the dot) so that i dont have to take chinese B in jc2. That would really suck. Economics better be a cinch. Dad is really beaming with pride that im taking that subject because it goes to show that im following in his foodsteps all the way to London School of Economics, his alma matter. He wants me to get there. As he took economics (duh) there, hes making sure that he "sets my base right" and is taking me to bras basah to buy textbooks soon. GP is pretty okay but i wish i can write as well as xiuling or Sam.
Anyway, im going to switch the topic to something else other than studies. I shouldve saved the earlier subject comments for sunday night, where its the night before school starts- you know emphasis the whole "i have to do well" thing.
On a lighter note, Charles is coming back on the 24th. Its been around 4 months since i last saw him. He typed the fantastic 3 of us an email and come to think of it, benji what did you suggest? I have no idea how did charles hear about the nyp scandal all the way in london. Mustve gotten good viewership.
